Frankenpens: Part 2 Coming soon
I spent a weekend hacking up a bunch of fountain pens to take Pilot Parallel Pen nibs and documenting the process as a follow up to my first article, Pilot Parallel Frankenpens. These new mods will allow the Parallel nibs to work better with some of the previously reviewed pens, but will also allow some new pens to work with Parallel nibs, including the Asvine P20, Moonman C1, Nahvalur Schuylkill and theoretically many other pens that use this same nib housing. The only drawback is that most of these pens have an interior section much wider than the parallel feed and some tape or other material is required around the top of the feed so that it sits securely in place. Over time, the tape degrades and can be a mess to deal with, but they do work better than the original vanilla modifications.
This ultimately lead me to design my own custom nib housing and begin making my own pens that can freely swap between Jowo 6 nibs and parallel nib units.
